Squad Memberships
The Junior squads provides opportunities for swimmers to develop all aspects of stroke technique, fitness levels and race skills to prepare for competitions. Junior Development caters primarily for children aged 9 to 11 years who are swimming at a competitive level. Swimmers begin attending three sessions per week and build up to five sessions per week depending on their age and ability.

The Intermediate Squad assists swimmers in their transition from the Junior Development Squad with all aspects of stroke technique, fitness levels and race skills to prepare for all competitions. This Squad caters for swimmers aged primarily 11 years and over who are working towards qualifying and early development for the Queensland State Championships, as well as for multi-sport swimmers who can not attend the minimum requirement for the National Development Squad. Swimmers wanting to progress through the squad pathway begin attending 4 sessions per week and build up to 6 sessions per week, depending on their age and ability.

The National Squad assists swimmers to develop all aspects of stroke technique, fitness levels and race skills to prepare for competitions.The National Squad caters primarily for swimmers aged 13 to 15 years who are working towards performing at the Australian Age Championships. Swimmers must attend a minimum of 7 sessions per week and build up to 8 sessions per week depending on their age and ability. These swimmers have access to a comprehensive dry-land program that includes muscular-skeletal screening, individually tailored strength and conditioning prescription. This squad also have regular physiotherapy assessments provided to by Movement Improvement.

The National Performance Squad assists swimmers who are fully committed to achieving the highest possible performance at Australian and International competitions. Swimmers in this squad must attend 8 to 9 sessions per week. These swimmers have access to a comprehensive dry-land program that includes muscular-skeletal screening, individually tailored strength and conditioning classes, PACE Gym memberships and Regular physiotherapy assessments provided by Movement Improvement.
Individual practice requirements are determined by the Head Coach based on age, training background and ability. Swimmers are invited by the Head Coach, in consultation with the National Squad Coach to be a member of this squad. Squad re-selections are ongoing throughout the year.
