Welcome to the Chandler Swimming Club
The Chandler Swimming Club Incorporation has been prominent in local, state and national swimming since its official inception back in 1981.
Chandler SC Inc can trace its history back to a swimming club that was known as the ‘Carina Amateur Swimming Club’ during the 1960s and 1970s. The swimmers, trained at the Carina pool, an outside, unheated facility only a few kilometres from Chandler SC Inc's current home, Sleeman Sports Complex.
When the Sleeman Sports Complex was built for the 1982 Commonwealth Games, the ‘Carina Amateur Swimming Club’ won the right to lease lanes of the new 50 metre, heated, indoor pool, and so, relocated. The change of location led to a name change and the club became the ‘Chandler Swimming Club’.
Our History and Mission Statement
Chandler Swimming Club Inc has had several swimmers and coaches represent their country over the years; Jodie Henry, Alice Mills, Jessica Ashwood, Meg Harris, Jack McLoughlin, Libby Trickett, Shayna Jack, David McKeon, Daniel Fox to name a few. We currently have active swimmers who have made various Australian (Jnr & Snr) teams, some of which include Zac Stubblety-Cook, Cate Campbell and Rachael Watson. The success of our junior and senior Australian team members is indicative of the way we strive for success across all levels.
The Chandler Swimming Club Inc and its coaching staff aim to provide a place for young people to develop, not only as swimmers but also as confident, healthy, and independent individuals.
The club endeavours to provide a strong foundation from where every swimmer can go on to achieve their full potential, carrying the lessons learnt, through with them for the remainder of their lives.
It is the club’s intent that each and every member enjoys this journey.

TRAINING VENUE, TRAINING COST & SQUAD ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

Our Club is located within the Sleeman Sports Complex on the Corner of Old Cleveland Road and Tilley Road, Chandler. Our Club has two entry points on Tilley Road and one entry point on Old Cleveland Road. To find us, you can put our street address into your GPS - 1763 Old Cleveland Road, Chandler QLD 4155.
Our Club is located within the best aquatic facility in Queensland. Conveniently located close to the Gateway and Chandler bus exchange, making Chandler Swimming Club easy to travel to from all parts of Metropolitan Brisbane, and the northern end of the Gold Coast.

Our squad training takes place in the 50m Indoor Olympic Pool with anti-wave moveable bulkhead and the latest timing and scoring technology;
The Centre also has a Indoor Dive Pool with 10 metre, 7.5 metre, 5 metre and 0.5 metre diving platforms and boards;
Outdoor Pool with 13 lanes for public use and training; and
25m Indoor Heated Pool with water park and waterslide.

JOINING our SQUADS REQUIREMENTS: Swimmers MUST attend a trial as part of our squad entry assessment process and provide verified qualifying times as part of their application. All applications and trial result are reviewed and MUST BE approved by the Head Coach.

Chandler Swimming Club could not provide our team members access to one of Australia's premier swimming programs and the best aquatic facility in Queensland, without the generous support of our incredible sponsors.
Unlike many other swimming programs, we are run as a Not for Profit sporting organisation, meaning we are self-funded entirely by our squad membership fees and the generous donations of our club sponsors. This foundation has allowed our club to continually build success on a State, National and International level, and our rich history of success is entirely dependent on the contribution of our swimmers, professional coaching staff, parents, families and dedicated volunteer committee members.
